Churchfields Business Centre ‘tops out’

Churchfields Business Centre in Hollington, one of the Hastings Town Deal projects run by Hastings Borough Council, has had its roof completed.

To celebrate, Cllrs Paul Barnett, Maya Evans and Phil Scott went down to the site for a topping out ceremony and to talk to the construction team about the build.

The site has been under construction since the end of 2021 and has now officially ‘topped out’ meaning the construction of the roof has finished and the units are now ready to have their facilities installed.  There will be a wide range of sustainable features including solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.

The building is set to be ready for its first occupiers in October.

Cllr Paul Barnett, Leader of the council said,

“We’re really excited to be one step closer to this building being open. The site has been built to incredibly high sustainability standards, so it works alongside our drive to tackle climate change which is a top priority for the council. It's so important to support new local businesses and give them opportunities to thrive, and we hope that Churchfields Business Centre can help achieve this with its great location and proximity to other major businesses in the area.

“If you’re a business or organisation that might be interested in occupying one of these hubs, then please go to our website or email Dyer and Hobbis, our sole letting agent, for more information.”

A spokesperson from Westridge Construction, said,

“Westridge Construction are excited to be working alongside Hastings Borough Council on the construction of Churchfields Business Centre.

“We are committed to building a robust, sustainable business centre that incorporates fresh, light spaces for every new business.

“As a local business, we understand the importance and value that this investment brings to Hastings and are proud to be involved with this project.”
